A milestone was erected to replace an historic one on the A396, with a plaque cast by Cerdic Foundry in 2006. It was hit by a vehicle in 2015 and has since been reerected on the opposite side of the road.

The ponds with dams are shown on historic mapping and may have acted as mill ponds to provide a head of water for the waterwheel at Bickham Farm. They might otherwise have acted as fishponds.

The name "Claypit Plantation" may suggest the original use for this piece of land. Aerial photographs show linear cropmarks to the north of the pond and wood that may form an enclosure, which may or may not be related.

The medieval origin of Clicket farmstead is implied by the Lay Subsidy of 1327. It is shown as a small settlement on the Tithe Map of 1844. The site now comprises ruined buildings, a hollow way, a possible mill site and a number of enclosures.

Shown as a farm of 63 acres on the Tithe Map of 1844, Bougham was semi-derelict by the end of the century. Earthworks, building foundations and enclosure walls were recorded in 1976. A modern house now occupies the site.
