Monument record: MDE21091 Countisbury Mill, Brendon (Building)The old corn mill is shown on historic mapping. It appears to have passed out of use at the end of the 19th Century and is now a private house.

Monument record: MSO9264 Stowey Mill, Putham Wood (Monument)Stowey Mill is shown on the Ordnance Survey 25" map of 1889. It is visible as substantial though deteriorating ruins in Putham Wood, comprising the mill building with adjoining wheel pit, and two ancillary buildings.

Monument record: MDE11746 Barbrook Mill (Monument)The mill is shown on the Lynton Tithe Map of 1840, along with the associated leat, mill-wheel and race, and about a dozen buildings. The building, wheel and machinery were destroyed in the 1952 flood.

Monument record: MDE21089 Brendon Mill (Building)The corn mill and leat are shown on historic mapping. The mill was apparently swept away in the 1952 flood, although a later site visit suggested the buildings are still extant.

Monument record: MSO11250 Lower Mill, Higher Mill Farm (Monument)A mill and leat are recorded on historic mapping. It was gifted by Robert Baker in 1755, with the proceeds used to clothe the poor of Hawkcombe and Exford Parishes. The corn mill was powered by an overshot wheel made by John Brayley of Molland in 1870.

Monument record: MSO8596 Possible post-medieval mill at Northern Mill Cottage (Monument)It has been suggested that the presence of a building named Northern Mill Cottage may indicate a corn mill was situated in this vicinity. Field investigation could provide no trace of such a building.

Monument record: MSO11558 The Watermill, Hawkcombe, Porlock (Building)The original corn mill was used until 1900 when the last miller died. In 1909 it was bought by the Porlock Electricity Supply Company, and powered by dynamo. The wheel was repaired and made to work in 1969.

Monument record: MEM24927 Post-medieval mill leat at Bridgetown (Monument)A mill leat is recorded on historic mapping. It carries water from a weir on the River Exe to Bridgetown Mill to the south.

Monument record: MSO7969 Yearnor Mill (Monument)A post-medieval corn mill, now converted into a dwelling. The remains of the leat and head pond are said to be extant.
