Full Description
A water and vegetation filled linear cut 10-12m long and up to 3m wide aligned northeast-southwest was noted by Cornwall Council during a walkover survey on Wester Emmetts and Burcombe. It is accompanied by a spoil heap up to 0.8m high downslope to the north. Although a discrete feature this appears to be a continuation of MEM23944, to the axis of which it is approximately perpendicular. [1] A short linear prospecting work and associated spoil heap was discovered by a Mires walkover survey on Burcombe. This is very close to a stone culvert (MEM23945) and other prospecting works (MEM23944), that form part of the iron ore mining activity on Burcombe. [2]
