Source/Archive record SEM341465 - ENPHER Input Form Resetting of a Prehistoric Standing Stone on Wilmersham Common, March 2019

A standing stone had been noted in this area but it appears to have been given an incorrect NGR and was not located in the 1990’s RCHME survey. It was rediscovered and recorded in 2017 during the Standing Stone Condition Survey but knocked out of its socket, probably by a vehicle. The stone was repositioned in the original socket in 2019 as part of the Monuments Management Scheme 2018-2020.
