Type and Period (2)
Protected Status
- None recorded
Full Description
Low indistinct banks forming small irregular enclosures and possibly field boundaries on the north side of Luccombe Hill. Also three sides of a huge rectangular enclosure formed by straight regular banks or walls. [1] The field boundaries may extend into Wootton Courtenay parish (MMO529) although they do not appear as regular. [3] Field investigation revealed a fairly recent fence line (some wooden posts remained), and patterns caused by vegetation. [4] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [5]
