Full Description

Semi-detached cottage. Early C19, altered late C19 and mid C20. Roughcast over rubble, hipped thatched roof, roughcast octagonal stack. Pair of cottages, central full height curved bay, single storey addition left, 2 storeys, 3 bays, 2-light leaded casements, first floor in bay arrowslits flanking inserted 2-light many paned casements, ground floor tripartite 12-pane sash window, entrance in outer bays, plank doors, slate roofed pentice porch, lean-to roofed single storey, 2-bay addition left. One of a group of Chargot estate cottages. (Photograph in NMR). [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 265354. First Listed on 22/05/1969. [2] Stone, Render, roughcast and pebbledash walls. Hipped roof [3] The buildings were visited in June 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. They received a BAR score of 6. [4] The building was assessed as part of the 2018-19 rapid condition survey of Exmoor’s Listed Buildings, receiving a BAR score of 6. [5]
