Full Description

Cottage. C16, enlarged C18-C19, and C20. Rendered over rubble, thatched roof, double Roman tiled, half hipped single storey addition left, pantiled single storey addition beyond, brick stack original right gable end, large lateral stack at rear. Perhaps 2-cell enlarged with 2-cell addition. One and a half storeys, 2-light dormer rising from eaves, early C19 3-light leaded iron casement set below eaves right, ground floor C20 window in addition left of entrance, small many paned opening to right, 3 and 2-light early C19 leaded iron casements beyond; plank door with irregular recess beside right jamb, interior not seen. Formerly known as Crawter Cottage. [1] English Heritage Listed Building Number: 265351. First Listed on 05/06/1985. [2] Stone, Random rubble walls. Gabled roof [3] The building was visited in May 2012 as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor's Listed Buildings 2012-13. It received a BAR score of 6. [4] The cottage was assessed as part of the rapid condition survey of Exmoor’s Listed Buildings 2018-19, receiving a BAR score of 6. [5]
