A crater of probable Second World War date is visible on aerial photographs taken in 1947 and 1970. The crater is almost 8 metres in diameter and is probably an outlying feature of the Exmoor Firing Range.

Full Description

A crater of probable Second World War date is visible on aerial photographs, on the southeast facing slopes of Dunkery Hill, centred on circa SS 9039 4174. The crater is almost 8 metres in diameter and is probably an outlying feature of the Exmoor Firing Range. It remains visible on aerial photographs of 1970. [1-3] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [4]
