Full Description
A pair of post-medieval field boundaries are visible as earthworks on aerial photographs in a field to the northeast of Guskin Combe. Both boundaries run approximately east to west with the longer boundary, at SS 8117 4867 measuring 85 metres long and the shorter boundary, at SS 8113 4878 measuring 30 metres long. They are similar in form and size to a number of other extant field boundaries, and may be part of the original 19th Century enclosure of this area of land. The longer boundary appears to originally define the field into two, and was probably removed in order to create the current larger single field. The shorter boundary may mark the original extent of the field, and was probably removed when the field was extended.
