Full Description

A complex of ditched defined field boundaries and potentially associated drainage ditches of probable post-medieval date are visible as cropmarks on aerial photographs, some 400 metres to the west of Little Blackford in Luccombe parish, centred on circa SS 920 450. The majority of the boundaries are marked on the First Edition Ordnance Survey map of 1889 and are still extant on aerial photographs of 1962. However, they have been transcribed due to the visibility of further linear features in the western half of the complex. Unlike the recently removed boundaries, the additional linear features appear to be formed by single ditches and may be the remains of agricultural drainage ditches.
