Full Description
A heap of stones piled against the bottom of a strip lynchet south of the deserted settlement in Mansley Combe. It is sub-rectangular, 3.4m N/S, 3m E/W and 1.8m high, with an oak tree growing on the top. This is a field clearance cairn; it could be associated with the working of the strip lynchets but may equally date from the early post medieval use of the area in the 16th and 17th centuries.[1]
