Full Description
An enclosure on the NE side of Ham Allotment is clearly visible on the Lidar imagery. The west and north sides are defined by a substantial bracken and turf covered stony bank, 1.8m wide, 0.7m high, with a ditch to the west and north, 1.2m wide, 0.8m deep. The east and south sides of the enclosure are now part of the late-19th century field system shown on the 1st edition map. The enclosure is 250m E/W and 125m N/S. This enclosure is not shown on the late 18th- or 19th-century maps of the holding, suggesting that it may be of medieval or early post medieval date.[1]
