Summary

An enclosure on the NE side of Ham Allotment defined by a substantial bracken and turf covered stony bank, with a dtch to the west and north. This enclosure is not shown on the late 18th- or 19th-century maps of the holding, suggesting that it may be of medieval or early post medieval date.

Full Description

An enclosure on the NE side of Ham Allotment is clearly visible on the Lidar imagery.The west and north sides are defined by a substantial bracken and turf covered stony bank, 1.8m wide, 0.7m high, with a ditch to the west and north, 1.2m wide, 0.8m deep. The east and south sides of the enclosure are now part of the late-19th century field system shown on the 1st edition map. The enclosure is 250m E/W and 125m N/S. This enclosure is not shown on the late 18th- or 19th-century maps of the holding, suggesting that it may be of medieval or early post medieval date.[1]
