Full Description
A sub-rectangular enclosure lies on Ham Allotment. It measures 180m NW/SE and 100m NE/SW; the western side is defined by a turf covered, stony bank, 1.4m wide and 0.6m high, which was probably made from cleared stone. The north and east side of the enclosure is defined by a turf and bracken covered stony bank, 2.7m wide, 0.8m high, with a ditch, 1.7m wide,1m deep, to the north and east.A deep erosion gully runs NW/SE through the enclosure. The enclosure is visible on 2006 aerial photographs and appears to pre-date the late 19th-century field boundaries but is not shown on 18th or 19th-century maps suggesting that it may date from the medieval or early post medieval periods.[1]
