Full Description

A small circular mound was identified during a walkover survey in 2024 [1]. The mound is located on the east side of an un-named combe to the south of Embercombe Water. Little surface stone is now visible as the mound is largely covered with bracken, turf and heather. It is c. 4.5m in diameter and in places is 1m in height. The mound was interpreted as a likely Bronze Age burial mound with a later function as a possible waymarking cairn as it is placed in close proximity to the nearby holloways (MEM25587).
