Full Description

SS 8173 3336: A low, moss-covered mound of stone was recorded during an archaeological walkover survey in advance of peatland restoration work at Halscombe Allotment in September 2023. The mound is 3m in diameter and 0.3m high. It may be a small Bronze Age funerary cairn. It is located on the northwest side of a combe overlooking a tributary stream to the Danes Brook, and within sight of two other cairns (MSO8757 and MEM24181) on the opposite side of the valley.[1]
