Full Description
Lynmouth Flood Memorial Hall includes a permanent free exhibition on the flood of August 1952, run by a group of volunteers. The hall was erected in 1958 on the site of the former lifeboat station and was opened on 10th July, officially marking the completion of the rebuilding of the village after the flood. It is a stone built hall with a slate roof, and with an external staircase on its southern gable end. [1] The hall is marked on the 2022 MasterMap data. [2] The building is mentioned in the 2018 Conservation Area Appraisal for Lynmouth. [3] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [4]
