Full Description
Numbers 32 and 34, St George's Street are part of a significant group of later 19th century detached and semi-detached villas of substantial proportions built in the 1870s-1890s. They are typical examples of the period using local sandstone rubble and imported brick and stone dressings to a high specification. [1] The buildings are shown but not labelled on the 25 inch 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map. [2] The buildings are not shown on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. They appear to have replaced an earlier property to the south (MEM25286). [3] The buildings are labelled "32" and "34" on the 2022 MasterMap data. [4] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [5]
