Full Description

Lynch Bridge gives access to the buildings on the east side of the Aller at West Lynch, and must be at a relatively early river crossing place. [1] The bridge is shown on the 2022 MasterMap at SS 9007 4761. [2] It is also shown in a similar plan form on the 25 inch 1st and 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [3,4] The site is shown on the Tithe Map for Selworthy. There does not appear to be a bridge in this location, although the word "Lynch" obscures the map here. There is an open space depicted on both sides of the river (the eastern side is labelled "Waste") and this therefore appears to be a ford site. [5]
