Summary

An anti tank obstacle was constructed in 1940-1941 of graduated steel girders that could be slotted into holes in the road. No trace of the structure was observed in 1996.

Full Description

Site of a Second World War anti-tank obstacle located on Dunster Steep, 15 yards up the approach road into Dunster from main Minehead and Taunton road. The anti-tank obstacle was constructed in 1940-41 and comprised graduated steel girders, which were removable, slotted into holes in the road. A field visit in 1996 found no traces of the structure. [1] This record was enhanced as part of the National Record of the Historic Environment to Exmoor National Park Historic Environment Record data transfer project. [2]
