Full Description
Hartford Lodge is depicted and labelled on the 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map at SS 9588 2927. It is a large, mainly rectangular building, orientated with its main elevation facing to the southeast. [1] The Lodge is similarly depicted and labelled on the 25 inch 2nd Edition map and the 2020 MasterMap data. Lady Acland's Drive is noted to terminate just to the south of the property, suggesting it was built as a lodge for this routeway. [2,3] A house is shown on the Tithe Map (MEM24856) slightly to the west of this property, which is not shown. It is possible that the Lodge may reuse some of the fabric of the original structure. [4]
