Full Description
A finger post is situated at a T junction on a grass verge northeast of Venne Farm. It was visited during the Exmoor Signpost Survey 2017-18. It had a pyramidal finial with the inscription S C C. The fingers are inscribed as below: UPTON 1 1/4 / WIVELISCOMBE 7 1/4 WITHIEL FLOREY 2 1/2 / WATCHET 10 1/2 BROMPTON REGIS 3 1/4 / DULVERTON 7 3/4 The post was inscribed SOMERSET; if it stated maker's details, these were buried in the hedge. [1] The signpost is visible on 2018 MasterMap data. [2] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in February 2024. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [3]
