Full Description

SS 7516 3663. A roughly linear, but otherwise amorphous, depression measuring c. 15 to 20 metres long and 8 metres wide accompanied by earthwork mounds around its edges that are probably spoil dumps. The function of this feature is unknown, its location being unusual for a quarry and its rather irregular shape arguing against an interpretation as a reservoir for water management. [1] No features are depicted here on the 1st or 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey maps. [2,3]
