Full Description
The historic core of Simonsbath has been mapped from historic mapping. [1,2] Simonsbath was chosen by John Knight as the centre for his new estate after he acquired the Royal Forest in 1818-1820 [4] A project to reassess 19th century moorland reclamation through palaeological and archive research was undertaken 2020-2022 producing a number of reports. [5]
