MEM22565 - Undated stones on Deer Park (Non-antiquity)

An area of stones was noted during a non intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, undertaken by South West Archaeology as part of the Exmoor Mires Project. Some of the stones were located in proximity to drainage ditches. [1] The Historic Environment Officer for the Exmoor Mires Project undertook a non intrustive walkover survey of the proposed mire restoration area on Deer Park, which included this site. Noted was an area of surface stones, which might be considered to resemble standing stones during field investigation. One of the stones (Mires reference EDP12(162)) is probably part of upcast from a post-medieval drainage ditch. [2]
