Full Description

In Church Hill north of the Parish Church are two facing late 19th Century three storey groups with gabled dormer windows and largely original shopfronts, one having a stall riser of green glazed tiles. The main elevations are a mix of stone with brick or Ham Hill stone dressings or are rendered. Most timber sash windows and a cast-iron balustrade also survive. [1] The buildings are shown on the 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. [2] The buildings are mentioned in the 2019 Conservation Area Appraisal for Lynton. [3] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [4]
