Full Description

A row of houses dating from the late 18th Century or later, built of local red sandstone with brick dressings. Several have lost their natural slate roofs. [1] "St George's Row" is depicted and labelled on 25 inch 1st Edition Ordnance Survey map. [2] The buildings are shown on 2018 MasterMap data as subdivided. The southeastern end of the row is labelled "6" and the northwestern end "16". [3] The building is mentioned in the 2018 Conservation Area Appraisal for Dunster. It states that the row is dated 1844 and occupies a prominent position backing onto the churchyard. [4] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [5]
