Full Description
A 'Police Station' is marked on the 2nd Edition Ordnance Survey map. [1] The police station on Lady Street was built in 1903-4. [2] In 1901, when larger premises were needed, the police station and courthouse on Lady Street were built, and completed in 1902. [3] Externally, there is little to disclose No. 20’s former life as the Police Station, although the chamfered stone window and door lintels are still visible. [4] The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List. [5]
