An earthwork platform on the north side of Cloutsham Ball is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain. [1,2] The charcoal burning platform and an adjacent small mound were investigated as part of the Exmoor Iron Project revealing 2 phases of use of the platform. [3]
