An earthwork platform in Culbone Wood is probably the remains of a charcoal burning platform. The date of the earthwork is uncertain.

Full Description
A charcoal burning platform approximately 430 metres to the north of Twitchen on the steep north facing slopes in Culbone Wood. The platform is circa 6 metres long and 3 metres wide. The rear of the platform has slumped but is still levelled into the hillslope by about 1 metre. The front, downslope edge is damaged by fallen trees but is still upstanding to a height of circa 1 metre. A large coppice oak is growing on the rear of the platform. [1]
