'Berry Lawn Linhay' is shown on historic mapping. [1-3] This is an example of a typically Devon farm building. The lower part of the linhay is open at the front and used as a shelter for cattle or other animals while the top part is used as a hayloft. It had recently been restored by the National Trust in 1986. [4] This feature is visible but not annotated on the Countisbury Tithe map of c. 1841. [5]
