Description
Archaeological monitoring was undertaken during the excavation of five foundation trenches for a new barn in the farmyard at Rainsbury Farm, Upton, in July 2024. The trenches were dug in the southeast corner of the farmyard, centred at NGR: SS 99020 29244. Monitoring was carried out due to the location of the groundworks within the site of the Roman fort (MSO8387), although no archaeological remains or artefacts were encountered during the works.
