Site Event/Activity record EEM14157 - 2002: CS - Bearland Ventilation Flue
Technique(s)
Organisation
P J Stow and Associates
Date
January 2002
Description
A condition assessment was undertaken of the ventilation flue in March 2002. It was noted that the tall circular, tapering random rubble stone chimney had serious weather erosion of the mortar with the more pronounced wear occurring on the weather side. It had adopted a lean towards the weather side, where loss of mortar had allowed the stone column to shrink slightly. Repair work was deemed to be fairly urgent.
