This is the only inland Roman fort recorded on Exmoor. It survives in the form of earthworks and cropmarks, with some remains incorporated into extant field boundaries on the site, and has been subject to topographic and geophysical survey. It is possibly associated with a stray find reported via the PAS, a Roman Jupiter figurine (see https://www.exmoorher.co.uk/roman-jupiter-figurine). The heritage asset was assessed for inclusion on the Exmoor Local Heritage List in November 2022. It was decided to add the asset to the Local Heritage List.
